Vesta Vonau Morrison’s Photo Album 1900-1927

In the 1990s Marilyn and I visited Donald and Irene Morrison who lived near Toledo, Ohio. Don is the son of William and Vesta Vonau Morrison and Vesta was my grandfather Earl Finch’s first cousin which would make Don and I second cousins once removed. I remember visiting Vesta and Bill at their house at White House, Ohio about 1959 when I was 9 and they visited us in Michigan about 1964. Bill Morrison died in 1965 and Vesta, born in 1901,in 1973. While we were visiting Don and Irene I borrowed a photo album that had belonged to Vesta and photographed it that evening in our motel room with a makeshift copy setup, returning the album to them when we met them for breakfast the next morning. I believe most of the labeling on the pictures was done by Vesta. The photos appear to have been taken between about 1913 and 1926 when Bill and Vesta married. Almost half of the twenty photos appear to have been taken on a trip with Taphath Finch Vonau, Vesta’s mother, and with Vesta’s sister Minerva in probably 1923, the year before Taphath died. They visited Taphath’s sister Alice Finch Rhines at Alma, Michigan and her brother, Luther Finch at Arcadia, Michigan. Some of the photos were taken by someone else and sent to them.
